Haas F1 Team, competing in 2026 as the TGR Haas F1 Team, is an American Formula 1 constructor based in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Founded by NASCAR team owner and industrialist Gene Haas, the team made history as the first American-led Formula 1 constructor since the unrelated Haas Lola operation raced in 1985 and 1986, and remains the sole American-licensed team on the current grid.

Founding and a Lean Entry Model (2014–2016)

Gene Haas announced his intention to enter Formula 1 in April 2014, aiming to bring his CNC machining business, Haas Automation, into the global spotlight through motorsport. With Günther Steiner hired as the team's first Team Principal, Haas commissioned a chassis from Italian manufacturer Dallara and, crucially, signed a wide-ranging technical partnership with Scuderia Ferrari, gaining access to Ferrari's power units and other components. This lean, partnership-driven model was praised by some in the paddock as a blueprint for cost-efficient new team entries, while drawing scrutiny from privateer rivals concerned about growing ties between manufacturers and satellite constructors. Haas endured a difficult stretch through the following seasons, including a winless run to last place in the Constructors' Championship in 2023 amid persistent tyre wear and race pace issues, with Magnussen and Nico Hülkenberg unable to arrest the slide. The team's fortunes finally turned in the 2022 season, when it took its maiden pole position at the São Paulo Grand Prix sprint race with Magnussen, and recorded a landmark double-points finish at the British Grand Prix that included Mick Schumacher's first career points.

New Leadership and a Toyota Partnership (2024–Present)

A leadership change saw Ayao Komatsu succeed Günther Steiner as Team Principal ahead of the 2024 season, ushering in a renewed focus on consistency and reliability. Under Komatsu, Haas rebounded to finish seventh in the championship. The team continued its rebuild into 2025 with a fresh driver lineup of Esteban Ocon and rookie Oliver Bearman, and entered a significant new commercial and technical partnership with Toyota ahead of the 2026 season, competing as TGR Haas F1 Team as it continues working toward sustained midfield competitiveness and, eventually, a first Grand Prix win.
