The Minardi Years (1985–2005)

The team's roots trace back to Minardi, founded in Faenza in 1979 by Giancarlo Minardi and entering Formula 1 in 1985. Red Bull rebranded the team Scuderia Toro Rosso for 2006, using the Italian word for "bull" as a nod to the team's heritage while distancing it from the Minardi name. Toro Rosso became known as a launchpad for future Red Bull Racing stars, giving early Formula 1 opportunities to drivers including Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo, Max Verstappen, and Carlos Sainz Jr. The team delivered its defining moment in 2008, when a 21-year-old Vettel took a sensational pole position and victory at a rain-soaked Italian Grand Prix — at the time making him the youngest race winner in Formula 1 history, and remaining one of the most celebrated results in the team's history.

Scuderia AlphaTauri (2020–2023)

Red Bull rebranded the team Scuderia AlphaTauri in 2020 to promote its fashion label of the same name. The new identity delivered a second famous Monza victory in 2020, when Pierre Gasly held off the field to take a surprise win at the Italian Grand Prix. The team continued its role developing young talent through the following seasons, including Yuki Tsunoda's graduation to the grid in 2021.

RB and the Move to Racing Bulls (2024–Present)

The team was rebranded RB for the 2024 season under Team Principal Laurent Mekies, before adopting its current Racing Bulls identity in 2025, reflecting its role as Red Bull's Italian sister squad and its growing technical independence within the wider Red Bull organisation. The team has continued its long tradition of nurturing future Red Bull Racing drivers, with Liam Lawson, Isack Hadjar, and rookie Arvid Lindblad all passing through the team's junior development pathway in recent seasons.
