Oracle Red Bull Racing is an Austrian-owned Formula 1 constructor based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. Founded following the energy drinks company's purchase of the struggling Jaguar Racing team in 2004, Red Bull has grown into one of the most successful teams in Formula 1 history, winning six Constructors' Championships and eight Drivers' titles since making its debut in 2005.

Origins: Stewart Grand Prix and Jaguar Racing (1997–2004)

The team's roots trace back to Stewart Grand Prix, founded by three-time World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart, which competed in Formula 1 from 1997 to 1999. Ford acquired the team in 1999 and rebranded it Jaguar Racing to promote the British luxury car marque, but the team struggled to find competitiveness, scoring a combined 49 points across five seasons and never finishing higher than seventh in the Constructors' Championship. Ford put the team up for sale in September 2004, and on the final day of the sale process, energy drinks company Red Bull stepped in to purchase Jaguar Racing on 15 November 2004.

Building a Championship Team (2005–2009)

Christian Horner was named Team Principal of the newly rebranded Red Bull Racing, with David Coulthard and Christian Klien forming the team's first driver pairing for its 2005 debut. Under Horner, and with the arrival of legendary designer Adrian Newey, Red Bull steadily built toward the front of the grid, taking its first Grand Prix victory at the 2009 Chinese Grand Prix — a breakthrough that signalled the team's arrival as a genuine championship contender.

Red Bull's first period of total dominance arrived with Sebastian Vettel, who won four consecutive World Drivers' Championships from 2010 to 2013, with the team securing the Constructors' title in each of those seasons. Rebuilding Through the Honda Years (2014–2020)

Following new turbo-hybrid regulations in 2014, Red Bull entered a more competitive midfield period, though the team continued developing young talent through its junior programme, promoting a 17-year-old Max Verstappen directly into a race seat in 2016, where he won on his debut for the team at the Spanish Grand Prix.

The Verstappen Era and Continued Success (2021–2024)

Red Bull returned to sustained championship dominance with Max Verstappen, who won four consecutive Drivers' Championships from 2021 to 2024, including a record-breaking 2023 season in which the team won all but one Grand Prix. The team added Constructors' Championships in 2022 and 2023 during this period, cementing Verstappen and Red Bull as the dominant force of the sport's early 2020s regulatory era.

A New Chapter Under Laurent Mekies (2025–Present)

Following a difficult start to the 2025 season and the departure of several senior technical figures, including Adrian Newey, Red Bull dismissed Christian Horner in July 2025 after 20 years in charge, promoting Laurent Mekies from sister team Racing Bulls to Team Principal and CEO. Mekies oversaw a strong second-half recovery in 2025, with Verstappen narrowly missing a fifth consecutive title. Ahead of new technical and power unit regulations for 2026, Red Bull began developing its own in-house Red Bull Ford power unit in partnership with the Ford Motor Company, marking a new era for the team as it works to reclaim its position at the front of the grid alongside Verstappen and rookie promotion Isack Hadjar.
