A Mid-Season Rule Clampdown

The FIA has officially issued a new Technical Directive aimed squarely at teams exploiting flexible aerodynamics. Over the past three races, onboard cameras and live speed-trap data have suggested that certain front wings are flexing backwards under heavy load, shedding drag to achieve higher top speeds on the straights.

New Load Tests Implemented

Starting immediately, the scrutineering process will involve much stricter static load tests on the front wing flaps. Additionally, the titanium skid blocks on the floor will be measured with a tighter tolerance post-race.

Any team found running a floor that wears down beyond the new minimum thickness will face an automatic disqualification. This directive is expected to force at least three top teams to raise their ride heights, which could dramatically shift the competitive order and predictive pace models for Sunday's race.
