Biography
Arvid Lindblad: F1 Bio, Stats & Career Timeline
Arvid Lindblad is a British-Swedish Formula 1 driver for Racing Bulls. Born on 8 August 2007 in Virginia Water, Surrey, England, Lindblad arrived on the 2026 grid as the sport's sole rookie, carrying with him the records for youngest-ever race winner in both FIA Formula 3 and FIA Formula 2 — a résumé that made him one of the most anticipated debutants in recent Formula 1 history.
Early Life and Karting Career
Lindblad's motorsport journey began at age three on a motocross bike before he moved into karting at five, quickly becoming one of Europe's most promising young talents. He was crowned British Cadet Champion in 2018 and won the WSK Super Master Series in the OKJ class in 2020, a result that caught Red Bull's attention. He joined the Red Bull Junior Team in 2021, immediately adding the WSK Euro Series and WSK Final Cup titles to his growing résumé.
Junior Formulae: Rewriting the Record Books
Lindblad made his single-seater debut in Italian F4 in 2022, and by 2023 was taking wins with Prema Racing, including a headline victory at the prestigious Macau Grand Prix. He stepped up to FIA Formula 3 in 2024, immediately breaking records by becoming the youngest-ever sprint race winner in the series' history at just 16 years old, on debut in Bahrain, before backing it up with a dominant home double at Silverstone. In 2025 he moved into FIA Formula 2 with Campos Racing, becoming the youngest race winner in that series' history at the Jeddah Sprint and finishing sixth in the championship, while also winning the FR Oceania title.
Formula 1 Debut (2026)
Lindblad earned a direct promotion to Formula 1 with Racing Bulls for 2026, partnering Liam Lawson and becoming the first teenager to race for the Faenza-based team since Max Verstappen's own debut in 2015. He made an immediate impression at his home debut at the Australian Grand Prix, qualifying ninth and finishing eighth in the race — becoming the third-youngest points scorer in Formula 1 history and announcing himself as one of the most exciting new talents on the grid.
Personal Life
Lindblad carries three flags on his helmet in tribute to his multicultural background: British, Swedish, and Indian. His father, Stefan Lindblad, is a Swedish former motocross rider, while his mother, Anita Ahuja, is of Indian descent, her parents having emigrated from Punjab to the United Kingdom. He is only the third driver of Indian heritage to reach Formula 1, following Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok.
